Lee Martin is the author of the novels River of Heaven;The Bright Forever (Shaye Areheart Books, Random House), which was a finalist for the 2006 Pulitzer Prize; Quakertown (Dutton Books); and the memoirs From Our House (Dutton Books) and Turning Bones (University of Nebraska Press). His story collection The Least You Need to Know (Sarabande Books) won the Mary McCarthy Prize in Short Fiction. He is co-editor of Passing The Word: Writers On Their Mentors. His fiction has appeared in such places as Harper’s, Story, DoubleTake, Creative Nonfiction, Glimmer Train, The Georgia Review, and New England Review, and he is the recipient of an NEA fellowship. He previously taught creative writing at the University of North Texas, where he also edited the American Literary Review. Currently he is the director of the graduate creative writing program at The Ohio State University.
